Don't Give My Red State The Blue's

MSN had a survey which showed the best and worst states for finding a job.  The top 10 best states were:  S. Dakota, Idaho (where I moved from), Wyoming, Nebraska, Utah, Hawaii, N. Dakota, Virginia, Montana and New Hampshire.  The bottom 10 states were:  Michigan (where I live now), Mississippi, S. Carolina, Alaska, California, District of Columbia, Ohio, Arkansas, Nevada and Kentucky.  It is interesting that for the most part the easiest places to find a job are in states that are conservative or Republican, and that the worst places are mostly Democratic states.  I decided to do a few internet searches on these states for things like quality of life, tax burdens and whether or not the states were generally business friendly or not.  The best states for finding work turned out to have significantly better ratings on each of these factors: Tax Load (18.6 to 29.4), Business Friendly (16.9 to 35.6) and Quality of Life (19.3 to 36.5).  The "Best" states also were more likely to be "Right to Work" states.  One disturbing trend is occuring that I noticed when I lived in Idaho.  There are "tons" of Californians moving into Idaho, Utah, and other Red states, trying to escape what California has become.  I'm just hoping that Liberals won't give my Red state the Blue's.
